Explore our version of Kipling’s Jungle Book in this immersive projection mapping at Sharjah Light Festival
Jungle Book
Nomada invited us to participate again in the Sharjah Light Festival 2020. One of the five pieces as a projection mapping of the facade of the Police Academy we proposed the Jungle Book: a story of instincts, nature, survival, fight, fear, love, and learning. A tale that has crossed cultures and is part of the global imaginary. With this piece we wanted to make a tribute to Kipling’s work, making our own representation of his imaginary and the values that these characters represent.
We proposed a journey through the key moments of the history of the book, filling the building with its essence and inducing the public to build the story as each part follows. To immerse ourselves in the mysteries of the Indian jungle, we used sound as a vehicle to highlight every detail of the scene. The sound aims to give rhythm to each scene anticipating, shading, and amplifying the meaning of the visual material.
The 11-minute piece was made by mixing After Effects, some generative graphics software such as Touchdesigner, Notch, and Smode, as well as a Cinema4D base for 3D environments, textures, hair, animals, and the building itself.
