Designed for Macao Light Festival, ‘Bloom’ is an 8-minute AV show celebrating Macao’s rich heritage.
Bloom
Bloom was conceived for the Macao Light Festival 2019. Macao Government Tourism Office contacted us to do an AV show projecting on the iconic Ruins of Saint Paul’s facade. Since it was the 20th anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, our piece was inspired by Macao’s flourishing and its most peculiar elements, both from the past and present day. A mix of the different faces, times, and traditions, new and old ones, to create a coherent piece with the people and the land of Macao.
We created Bloom, an 8-minute piece that explores a minimal and abstract representation of elements in a more poetic and artistic interpretation to highlight the beauty of the facade.
Process
The common thread of the story we wanted to transmit was the continuous growth of elements, emphasizing the importance of Macao’s prosperity during these last 20 years.
Bloom points out representative details making them never stop growing to reinforce the concept expressed by the name itself.
The original soundtrack is a modern piece mixing Chinese and Portuguese influences with natural and abstract soundscapes, maintaining always the sensation of a neverending crescendo in harmony with the blooming visuals.
