CGI fabric simulations and 45 minutes of live event content for a large-scale LED screen. Cupra’s global event in Barcelona.
Cupra Unplugged Keynote
Cupra Unplugged was a brand event for CUPRA’s commercial teams across every market where the brand operates. Held in a massive industrial venue in Barcelona, the show ran 45 minutes of live content in front of an audience that had traveled from around the world.
We were brought in by agency Vampire to handle all video content for a large-scale LED screen. Our friends at Landscapes built the technical setup, including a dynamic ceiling installation with motorized fabric panels controlled by servomotors. A setup that demanded content designed to work with the space, not just fill it.
The content system we developed covered the full show: animated loops, a countdown, an intro sequence, and a series of country reveal videos for the winning markets. Nearly an hour of material across multiple pieces, all produced at very high resolutions. Terabytes of content that had to feel like a single coherent visual language throughout.
The creative direction was built around CGI fabric simulations. Flowing materials moving through space, creating organic shapes and constantly evolving compositions. Everything rendered in Unreal Engine for the control and resolution the LED canvas required.
One of the less visible but most demanding parts of the project: we created almost 60 country flag animations, knowing only 5 would be used on the night. The kind of work that never makes the highlight reel but defines the quality of the live experience.
