We used EmberGen to take particle simulation to the next level, creating dynamic, fiery visuals for Winamax’s phoenix.
Winamax Phoenix CGI Campaign
Our long-standing collaboration with the agency Soixante Seize and Winamax continues to challenge and inspire us with exciting and imaginative campaigns. For this project, the brief revolved around bringing a spectacular phoenix to life—a mythical creature made entirely of millions of colorful, flame-like particles.
The concept demanded a delicate balance: the phoenix had to radiate light and vibrancy, while soaring over dark, arid environments designed to contrast with its brilliance. To maintain continuity with previous campaigns, we included Winamax’s iconic sword, seamlessly integrating it into this visually striking world.
The process began with a basic geometry animation of the phoenix, created in collaboration with the talented team at Firelight. This animated model was then converted into a particle emitter, allowing us to achieve the final look using advanced particle simulation. The key to this transformation was mastering EmberGen, a cutting-edge particle simulation tool that enabled us to craft the intricate motion and texture of the phoenix’s flames.
The entire project was rendered in Cinema 4D using Redshift, ensuring a polished and high-quality result. Beyond the stunning visuals, this project stands out for the technical challenges it posed, particularly in exploring new capabilities within EmberGen.
